Global Festival Of Documentary Films 2009

 Global Festival of Documentary Films emerges as the most prestigious South Asian Documentary Film Festival as it bags the most awarded and talked about films for participation in the Festival organized by International Film & Television Club of Marwah Studios, a Creative Enterprise. Eminent film makers like Megan Mylan, Teri McLuhan, A.S. Bedi, Kim Longinotto amongst a long list of internal names enter their films in the festival.Global Festival of Documentary Films is taking place from 20th to 22nd November, ’09 at Marwah Studios Complex, Film City, Noida, U.P. The Festival venue would be buzzing with the celebrity attendance of film makers and film personalities not only attending the festival but also interacting with the audience and the young film makers during the daily networking sessions open to all film makers, media and film enthusiasts. Amongst the celebrity attendance would be film makers like Boney Kapur, Satish Kaushik, N. Chandra, A.S. Bedi, Feroze Abbas Khan, Esmail Shroff, Karl Bardosh, Kurt Inderbitzin etc. The media cell representing the four mediums print, TV, radio and Internet will be covering the Festival throughout the day. Journalist will get special briefing and one-on-one with the directors daily. “We are proud of being able to bring the most coveted and celebrated films and film makers from across the world to our Festival. Naazuk Saa Modd Launched From Noida Film City

A thirty day schedule of Adeep Tandon venture ‘Naazuk Saa Modd’ has begun today at Marwah Studios. A love triangle suspense thriller is to be directed by Addeep Tandon who is a well known cinematographer for number of prestigious projects like Saaransh, Thikana Censor, Grihpravesh etc. The film is being produced by Swapan Dey and Co-produced by Vikas Garg in association with Marwah Studios, Noida. Raghav Marwah is the executive producer of this feature film.
The film is written by Esmayeel Shroff a well known Director who has scripted this film for the first time for an outside director. Some of his well known film are Bulandi, Agar, Thodi Se Bewafai, Tarkieb, Majdhar, God and Gun, Ahista Ahista, Jhutha Such, Dil Akhir Dil Hai and Police Public etc. The film will be shot in Delhi and Noida from start to finish.

The music for the film has been given by Lalit Sen of (Dhoop, Monsoon, Heera Pheri fame), Lyrics by Nida Fazli of (Sarfrosh, Razia Sultan, Sur fame), Editor is Rajeev Gupta, Audiographer is S.K. Srivastava, Art Direction by the National Award Winner Shyam Bhutkar, Choregraphy by Bhushan Lakhandari of (Devdas, Sawariya, Hum Apke Hain Koun fame), Singers are Mohd. Salamat, Javed Ali, Vinod Rathod and Vaishali,  for Media Coordination Sunil Prashar is associated with this venture.

“I am going to share my 30 year long experience in the industry with my audience through this film” said Adeep Tandon. “Sandeep Marwah of Marwah Studios is going to lend valuable support to us” he added. 
“I have been writing and directing my films, but this is for the first time that I have scripted a feature film for another director” said Esmayeel Shroff. Aadil Sharma, Hritu Dudani, Mega Narkar and Punit Tejwani are in lead roles in the film informed Sandeep Marwah.

Sandeep Marwah Welcomed The Team Of Oscar Winning Film Smile Pinki

It was a great pleasure to see the enthusiasm of Indians when the Director of Oscar winning film Smile Pinky  Ms Megan Mylan along with the charismatic doctor Dr. Subodh Kumar visited Delhi. The president of Marwah Studios Sandeep Marwah welcomed them and informed them about the Global Festival Of Documentary Films where the film has been nominated as one of the best international Documentary by the jury., to be held in the month of November at Noida Film City.

 

“We are feeling proud to be associated with Marwah Studios and thankful for providing their facilities for this Oscar Winning film” said Megan Mylan, the director of the film Smile Pinki. “I would love to be present and part of Global Festival of Documentary Films 2009” she added. “The shooting arrangements at Marwah Studios are no less than any Hollywood studios” said Dr. Subodh Kumar.

 

 

The film is about eight year young girl Pinki Kumari  who is living with a severe cleft lip in one of the poorest areas of India. Not allowed to attend school at her native village,         and ostracized because of her deformity, Pinki lives a life of quiet desperation as she waits and wonders if she will ever receive the cleft surgery. Her parents could never afford the surgery that she desperately needs. By chance, Pinki’s parents meet a social worker one day who is traveling village to village, gathering patients for a hospital that provides free cleft lip surgery to thousands of poor children each year through the The Smile Train  program. The surgery was performed by plastic surgeon Dr Subodh Kumar Singh, who along with Pinki attended the 81st Academy Award ceremony

Students Of Asian Business School Now Members Of IFTC

Noida:The sixteen years old institution running under the banner of International Film And Television Club headed by Sandeep Marwah the renowned media personality now is open to the students of Asian Business School, Noida informed Latika Sahani the dean of ABS. The International Film And Television Club had been framed for the promotion of good films and television programs through screenings retrospectives, seminars and symposia and to create interaction and development of contacts between film makers and television professionals both nationally & internationally. It also includes the circulation and exchange of films and television programs at National and International level including film and television professional. The pupose also contains the advancement of Film and Television productions. A separate wing has been specially organized by Prof. Harshvardhan Vice President IFTC for the students of Asian Business School [ABS].Students can also represent IFTC in the States and Districts for the promotion of film and TV activities in their areas to be supported and finance by the Club.The decision has been jointly taken by Sandeep Marwah and the board of IFTC.

Painting Exhibition By Neema Lal At Marwah Studios

Noida: An exhibition of colorful paintings by Neema lal was jointly inaugurated by Jaganath, the former Secretary of Home Affairs, Government of Uttar Pradesh and Vikas Garg renowned business man and the film producer  at Marwah Studios,  Film City, Noida.

 “Paintings are like poetry which you have to write with colors and it expresses all your emotions on canvas,” said Jaganath while releasing the brochure.  Neema Lal has worked with Artists from Denmark for a period of five years before joining Treveni Kala Sangam.  “I extend my heartiest congratulation to Neema for opting  Marwah Studios for her solo show within Media students, she is very expressive in her work” said Vikas Garg.

 “My journey from cotemporary to abstract helped me to make layers in paintings which help to have perspective effects, but this is not sufficient I would like to increase the number of layers to give more 3D effects.” Said Neema Lal while explaining her paintings to the students of Asian Academy of Film and Television (AAFT)  “I want to incorporate in my paintings new trends and recent techniques of other countries along which my own technique to give a much broader and wider look to my creations. The world should know that new chapter has been added in the field of art.” added Neema Lal.

 “I am thankful to Neema Lal for accepting my invitation to be part of International Film and Television Club” said Sandeep Marwah while handing over the life membership of IFTC to Neema. “We at AAFT want to promote all sort of Arts be it is films, Paintings, Dance, Drama, Writing or any other” added Marwah. 

Noida Gets Its First Radio Station

NENEW DELHI: The Asian School of Media Studies owned by Marwah Studios head Sandeep Marwah, based in the film city Noida has been given permission to establish, maintain and operate a Community Radio Station. With this, the number of CRs will increase to 59 in the country. The Information and Broadcasting Ministry has signed a Grant of Permission Agreement with the School and the Letter of Intent had been issued to the organization after recommendations of the Inter Ministerial Committee and seeking requisite clearances from various Ministries. The Community Radio Station is expected to be operational within three months as per the agreement. The School has been interacting with not-for-profit organizations in Noida devoted to the welfare of underprivileged section of the local community. The underprivileged section of the society comprises of migrant labour working in the factories, business houses and petty shops as well as domestic help and rickshaw pullers etc. The School intends to lend valuable support to such organizations in their effort to help the deprived section of the society through radio broadcasts. CRS, will help the people in learning about pollution control in their surroundings, literacy programme in their area, general health and hygiene, health care of seniors and elders and traditional health tips. The Ministry encourages setting up of the Community Radio Stations as CRS promises to provide an opportunity to the local communities to express themselves, and empower women. The main aim of starting the CRS is to provide different and useful information to the people in nearby villages. Although community radios were allowed since April 2005, the Central Government in December 2006 had liberalized the Policy on Community Radio by bringing in the civil society and voluntary organizations, agricultural universities, ICAR institutions, Krishi Vigyan Kendras etc under its ambit. The policy was liberalized to allow greater participation by the civil society on issues of development and social change. Earlier, only educational institutions were permitted to launch community radio channels. Belarus And India Will Exchange Art And Culture

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus in India H.E.Oleg Laptenok visited Marwah Studios, a hub centre for Arts and Cultural promotion to discuss in detail the ways and means to promote Belarus films, art and culture in India and vice versa with the renowned International personality Sandeep Marwah, president of Marwah Studios Creative Enterprises.

“We are keen in creating awareness about the culture, art, and cinema of Belarus in India and vice versa’ said H.E.Oleg Laptenok, Ambassador of Belarus in India. “We want people in this country should know the beauty, the locations, the tourism, and the films of our country. ”he added.

“We are ready to get into student exchange, faculty exchange, affiliations and articulations with film and TV schools, would love to hold exhibition of Belarus Arts and paintings, interactive sessions with personalities from Belarus, and festival of students films and Belarus films in India” said Sandeep Marwah.

The cultural policy of the Republic of Belarus is aimed at guaranteeing cultural rights both to the entire society and to every individual, and at political, economic and spiritual renewal of the country. To help achieve these goals there has been worked out the State Programme “Functioning and Development of Culture of the Republic of Belarus up Similar programmes have been adopted in all the administrative regions of the republic and in the city of Minsk. Identified are the priority avenues of the cultural policy, elaborated are the regional programmes informed by Maya Rusetskaya, the first secretary in the Embassy of Belarus in New Delhi.

Asian School Of Media Studies ASMS Celebrates 2009

The atmosphere was charged with emotion and excitement as the black caps were flung in the air amongst cheers at the Convocation at Asian School of Media Studies, one of the most prestigious and popular media colleges of the country. The students of Graduate and Masters studies of ASMS had gathered at the convocation to receive their Diplomas in their chosen stream of specialization. The Diplomas were awarded to the students from the Department of Cinema, Electronic Media, Mass Media and Multimedia.

In his Convocation address given in his signatory poetic manner Prof. Sandeep Marwah, Director ASMS, said “No success can be achieved without a spirit of sacrifice. Life teaches you at every step and it is for you to learn from it and boldly face all kinds of circumstances and consequences”. The packed house of students was charged with emotions at these words. There was a sense of loss at leaving the college they had been so proud of.

“We at ASMS give an all-round training and education to our students to secure their future. This includes ethical and professional practices coupled with good conduct befitting good citizens” said Suman Bajaj Kalra, Dean ASMS. In renowned film and TV actress Joyoshree Arora’s words “Students must first be good human beings to be good professionals to reach the top.” Added Kalyan Sarkar, Dean AAFT, “the seat at the top will always beckon you if you live by this norm”

“You can win the world with emotions and good communication” was the valuable advice given by Latika Sahni, Dean, Asian Business School. Mr. R.K. Singh, former Engineer in Chief of Doordarshan advised “Never forget your alma mater, however big you may grow”

Nazuk Sa Modd Written By Esmayeel Shroff

After a gap of few years the renowned writer director Esmayeel Shroff has written another suspence for the industry under the banner of R.K.Enterprises a film with love story titled NAZUK SA MODD. Esmayeel Shroff has earlier directed some of the finest films like Tarkieb, Majdhar, God and Gun, Zid, Nishcaiy, Police Public, Surya, Love86, Jhutha Sach, Dil Akhir Dil Hai, Ahista Ahista, Thodisi Bewafaii, Bulundi and many others.
This venture of Esmayeel Shroff will be directed by Adeep Tondon, who has been a cinematographer for number of prestigious projects like Saransh, Thikana, Censor, Grah Parvesh earlier. The film is co-produced by Vikas Garg in association with Marwah Studios, Noida. Raghav Marwah is the executive producer.
The film has been planned to shoot in Delhi and Noida. A thirty days schedule will begin in few days. “I am going to be in Delhi during the shoot and would like to see the film should move in the right direction as per my story” said Esmayeel Shroff while leaving Mumbai for Delhi. “Our associate Sandeep Marwah of Marwah Studios is taking care of all the shooting facilities in Delhi.” Shroff added.

Nazuk Sa Modd By Adeep Tondon

After spending number of years in the industry Adeep Tondon the renowned
Cinematographer (Censor, Thikhana, Grah Parvesh, Saransh fame) has decided to go ahead with the direction of the feature film “Nazuk Sa Modd” This is his debut as far as direction is concerned.

The film is going to be produced by R.K.Enterprises in association with Marwah Studios, Noida film City .The most of the shooting has been planned in Delhi and Noida by Adeep Tondon. The story, script and screenplay is written by Esmayeel Shroff who has given number of hits like Thodisi Bewafai, Ahista Ahista, Police Public etc.

One month schedule has been planned in Delhi where already Anil Kapoor’s film ‘Ayesha’ staring Sonam kapoor is in full swing. The production facilities for the complete film is to be taken care by Marwah Studios. “I am thankful to Adeep Tondon for adjusting students from Asian Academy Of Film And Television ( AAFT) in this film” said Sandeep Marwah, president of Marwah Studios. The film is Co-Produced by Vikas Garg.
