The United Nations General Assembly has declared 2012 as the International Year of Cooperatives, highlighting the contribution of cooperatives to socio-economic development, particularly their impact on poverty reduction, employment generation and social integration.
With the theme of “Cooperative Enterprises Build a Better World”, the Year seeks to encourage the growth and establishment of cooperatives all over the world. It also encourages individuals, communities and governments to recognize the agency of cooperatives in helping to achieve internationally agreed upon development goals, such as the Millennium Development Goals
“The United Nations General Assembly Resolution A/RES/64/136 encourages all member States, the United Nations and all relevant stakeholders to take advantage of the IYC to promote cooperatives and raise awareness of their contribution to social and economic development and promote the formation and growth of cooperatives” added Marwah who is also Chairing World Peace Development And Research Foundation.

A popular monthly magazine on film and television industry has taken a new shape under the leadership of its new publisher and editor Seema which was released by the renowned media personality Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios at Noida Film City.

“There are not much film magazines left in Hindi for the Hindi speaking belt in the country on Bollywood activities. In this age of competition and internet Filmi Kaliyan is still doing wonders” said Sandeep Marwah while accepting the new version of the magazine.

The magazine is published from Delhi and has a fantastic distribution system all over India and abroad. The magazine covers all aspects of Bollywood, news, reviews, happenings, launches and events all over.

When more than billion people on this earth living with chronic hunger and water problem, we cannot avoid discussing this issue and leave it to someone else.

World Water Day has been observed since 1993 when the United Nations General Assembly declared 22 March as World Day for Water. The UN and its member nations devote this day to implementing UN recommendations and promoting concrete activities within their countries regarding the world’s water resources.

“Two festivals can be planned, one festival of short digital films and second WeCare Film Festival of Films on Disability. The films can be shown together also” added Marwah while talking to the press.

Idea is to sensitize the audience about the problems of disable persons and also encourage and provide broad spectrum to young film makers of the World who have created new ideas and experimented well in their films. Many companies dealing in entertainment field showing interest in this kind of programs now.

PHD Seminar On Small And Medium News Papers

It was first the television invasion, and then internet incursion which has jerked the small and medium news papers in the country and has forced them to either close down or put them to high struggle level to survive in their respective places especially in small towns.

A high profiled seminar and discussion was planned on the challenges and solutions of small and medium news papers in India by the Entertainment and Media Committee of PHD Chamber at New Delhi. The seminar was formally inaugurated by the Lt General K.M.Seth the former Governor of State of Chattisgarh.

“A lot more interest is to be shown by the Government for the survival of Small and medium News Papers, especially the Government advertisement is to be divided proportionately” said K.M.Seth in his keynote address.

Explaining about the need of small and medium news papers in the country Sandeep Marwah Chairperson of Entertainment & Media Committee motivated all the owners and editors of the papers attending seminar from all over India.

Santosh Bhartiya former Member of Parliament and Editor Chauti Duniya expressed,” a strong association of news papers is required to pursue there demands from the government”

Present on the occasion Khurshid Ahmad Ganai Joint Secretary of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India assured that something more can be planned by the Government for the small and medium News Papers and noted down all the suggestions recommended by the house.

Marwah Studios a creative enterprises a family of 10000 media professionals from 85 countries is promoted by Sandeep Marwah who is also the promoter of Noida Film City way back in 1987. 10 march 1991 Marwah Studios was inaugurated by Smt Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit,Yash Chopra, and more than two dozen people fom Mumbai came to highlight the event.

In a span of 21 years Marwah Studios churned out more than 4000 television programs for 50 channels of the country. The studio has provided its facilities to around 100 feature films in 8 different languages. It has been the birth place for many national Channels like Zee, Sahara, ETV etc.

The Premier Film School Of the country in private sector ‘Asian Academy Of Film And Television’ was launched from here in 1993 followed by first film degree college ‘Asian School Of Media Studies’ and first Media Management school ‘Asian Business School ’The first foreign Degree media college “Asian School Of Communication was another feather in the cap.

Some very important organizations are born from Marwah Studios like ‘International Film And Television Club’ which further created and carved five festivals for the nation. ‘International Film And Television Research Centre’ became the first private film and TV research Centre of the Country having its own publication department. ‘International Public Broadcasting Forum’ for commissioning film & TV programs and ‘International Children’s Film Forum’ meant to promote good cinema for children.

The first Radio Station Of the City- Radio Noida 107.4FM also controlled by Marwah Studios catering to a million people. Marwah Productions have already created a World record of producing 1800- largest number of short films. ‘Apna School’ meant for unprivileged students has 340 students in 9 schools for free education.
