Documentary from Lesotho Honoured with An Award of Distinction at GFJN

This documentary is about Basotho , their culture and meaning behind their cultural activities. The film is from Moshoeshoe, the founder of Basotho Nation. It is directed by Lehlohonolo Mayeza.
Present on the occasion AAFT alumna and Miss Deaf Universe Vidisha Baliyan thanked AAFT for providing so much of facilities to students including giant festivals like Global Festival of Journalism. “I have learned from these kind of events, I owe my success to AAFT,” said Vidisha humbly.
Dr. Sandeep Marwah announced an Award of Distinction to Documentary from Lesotho-“Basotho Culture” and presented the award to Thabang Linus Kholumo along with festival memento.
The program was conducted by Mehak Zaidi, Asst. Prof., AAFT School of Mass Communication & Journalism. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Festival Director. Award of Distinction to Documentary from Cyprus at Global Festival
Noida: India and Cyprus have long-standing cultural relations that have been strengthened through the exchange of art, music, dance, and literature. The cultural exchange program between the two nations has led to a better understanding of each other’s traditions and values. This collaboration has opened up avenues for mutual learning and growth, cementing the relationship between India and Cyprus on a cultural level,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah Founder of Noida Film City and President of GFJN at the screening of Cyprus Documentary at Marwah Studios.
Yiannakis Makrides Deputy Head of the Mission, High Commission of Cyprus inaugurated the documentary film “ Olga’s Garden”. It is an audio-visual statement on the impact of high rises on the lives of citizens who live in between the construction sites, and its effect on their private and shared space. The film is produced by Maria Loizidou, and Danae Stylianou from Cyprus.
Dr. Sandeep Marwah presented festival memento and the Award of Distinction to Cyprus Documentary received by Yiannakis Makrides immediately after the screening. The event was supported by Asian Unity Alliance, Indo Cyprus Film and Cultural Forum & World Peace Development and Research Foundation.
A Documentary From Kazakhstan won Award of Distinction at GFJN 2023
Noida: The Global Festival of Journalism Noida is a cultural event, designed by International Journalism Centre, that also showcases films, music, and art from around the world. As part of the festival, the International Documentary section features a diverse selection of documentary films from various countries, covering a wide range of topics such as social issues, environmental concerns, and human interest stories. These thought-provoking documentaries provide a unique perspective on global issues and promote cross-cultural understanding among festival attendees,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah founder of Noida Film City and President of GFJN while inaugurating the film from Kazakhstan.
A film titled-January Events Facts and Arguments Kazakhstan was screened. The 11-minute film, which tells the key developments of each day from Jan. 1, 2022, to Jan. 8, 2022, has covered looters’ attacks against police and civilians and actions of law enforcement agencies from surveillance cameras, as well as personal interviews with detainees and victims. The film is Produced by National Film Studios Kazakhstan.

Later Dr. Marwah presented Award of Distinction to film from Kazakhstan in a grand function at Marwah Studios. Sandeep Marwah Spoke About Love Peace and Unity Through Art and Culture
New Delhi: Sandeep Marwah, the renowned Indian film producer, social worker, and founder of the Marwah Studios, recently spoke about the role of art and culture in bringing the world together. Marwah was speaking at a Nowruz Function on the second day of festival at Iran Cultural House in New Delhi, where he emphasized the importance of using art and culture as a means of fostering love, peace, unity, and understanding among different cultures and communities.
Marwah argued that art and culture have the power to transcend borders and language barriers, and can create a shared language of creativity and expression that can bring people from different backgrounds together. He highlighted examples of successful cross-cultural collaborations, such as the fusion of Indian and Western music, or the mixing of traditional and modern dance styles.

DPR Korean Film Presented with Award of Distinction at GFJN
Noida: The emotional documentary “Children’s Dream and Mother’s Happiness” presented by the Korean director begged Award of Distinction during the 11th Global Festival of Journalism Noida 2023 in a grand function when film was also screened for the large audience in the presence of H.E. Choe Hui Choi Ambassador of Democratic Republic of Korea to India at Marwah Studios.
“A documentary film is a great way of helping people understand because, somehow, when one is able to see the people involved, it lends a certain immediacy and understanding that is hard to get on the page. We are thankful to the authorities for providing slot for our documentary ‘Children’s Dream and Mother’s Happiness’ in a prestigious festival and also for the award of Distinction which has been bestowed upon this film,” said H.E. Choe Hui Choi Ambassador of DPR Korea to India.

“I am recollecting my involvement with Oscars twelve years back when a short film “Smile Pinky” brought first Oscar to India where we had provided opening and closing titles and the graphics and animation part of the film. Triangle of Sadness is a 2022 satirical black comedy film written and directed by Ruben Östlund in his English-language feature film debut. The film stars Harris Dickinson, Charlbi Dean, Dolly de Leon, Zlatko Burić, Henrik Dorsin, Vicki Berlin, and Woody Harrelson. The story is about Carl and Yaya, a couple of influencers, are invited to a luxury cruise ship alongside a group of out of touch wealthy people. The situation takes an unexpected turn when a brutal storm hits the ship narrated by H.E. Jan Thesleff Ambassador of Sweden to India while addressing to the jam packed hall.

Noida: 11th Global Festival of Journalism Noida 2023 is the best occasion to announce the launching of Indo Democratic People’s Republic of Korea Film and Cultural Form and the name of the Chair of Indo DPR Film and Cultural Forum as we are surrounded by like-minded people from so many different countries of the World at the same time,” said H.E. Choe Hui Chol Ambassador of DPR Korea to India while releasing the poster of the forum.
The forum is created to have best of the relations between the people of India and Korea through art and culture. Different kinds of events can be planned to bring the strengths of both the countries on the table. People must learn the art and culture of both the countries,” added Ambassador Choe Hui Chol

Documentary from Venezuela Screened at 11th Global Festival of Journalism
Noida: A documentary film is a non-fictional motion-picture intended to “document reality, primarily for the purposes of instruction, education or maintaining a historical record. Poetic Documentaries. Expository Documentaries, Observational Documentaries, Participatory Documentaries, Reflexive Documentaries, and Performative Documentaries are the different types we have been promoting in Global Festival of Journalism in these last eleven years,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios at the opening of Venezuela Film on the first day of GFJN at Noida Film City.
Life In A Dance- a full length documentary from Venezuela was the first film opened by Alfredo Caldera Charge D’ Affaires of Embassy of Venezuela in India. It is about the life and artistic career of the flamenco dancer from La Linea de la Concepcion, David Morales Ramirez. This film is in itself an example how a documentary transforms the life, not only of its protagonist, but also of its creators directed by Blanca Rey.
Later Dr. Sandeep Marwah presented an Award of Distinction to Alfredo Carla for the documentary being as one of the best nine documentaries of the festival. A memento of the festival was also handed over to the guest. The students of AAFT School of Journalism and Mass Communication and many film lovers from all over India enjoyed the screening of the film.
The event was supported by AUA-Asian Unity Alliance, IFTRC-International Film and Television Research Centre, AAFT University, IPBF-International Public Broadcasting Forum, and WPDRF- World Peace Development and Research Foundation. The film has been included as a part of 11th International Documentary Film Festival promoted by International Journalism Centre.
