Film Basotho Culture from  Lesotho begged Award of Distinction at GFJN

Documentary from Lesotho Honoured with An Award of Distinction at GFJN

Noida: “India and Lesotho have a growing relationship that extends beyond just diplomatic ties. Our cultural exchanges have paved the way for mutual learning and understanding, with both nations showcasing their art and cultural traditions. Through various programs and events, they have explored the similarities and differences in their cultures, strengthening their bond,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah founder of Noida Film City and President Global Festival of Journalism 2023.

“This collaboration has provided an opportunity for people from both nations to experience different art forms, understand each other’s values, and develop a deeper appreciation for their cultural heritage. The Indo-Lesotho cultural relationship has further enhanced mutual respect, understanding, and a shared vision for a better future. As cultural ambassadors of their respective nations, artists, and cultural enthusiasts play a vital role in bridging the gap and nurturing the relationship between the two countries,”  expressed Thabang Linus Kholumo, Charge d’ Affairs, High Commission of The Kingdom of Lesotho while lighting the ceremonial lamp to inaugurate the screening of Lesotho documentary.

This documentary is about Basotho , their culture and meaning behind their cultural activities. The film is from Moshoeshoe, the founder of Basotho Nation. It is directed by Lehlohonolo Mayeza.

Present on the occasion AAFT alumna and Miss Deaf Universe Vidisha Baliyan thanked AAFT for providing so much of facilities to students including giant festivals like Global Festival of Journalism. “I have learned from these kind of events, I owe my success to AAFT,” said Vidisha humbly.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah announced an Award of Distinction to Documentary from Lesotho-“Basotho Culture” and presented the award to Thabang Linus Kholumo along with festival memento.

The program was conducted by Mehak Zaidi, Asst. Prof., AAFT School of Mass Communication & Journalism. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Festival Director. The event was supported by Asian Unity Alliance, World Peace Development and Research Foundation,  AAFT University, and Indo Lesotho Film and Cultural Forum.

Cyprus Film Liked by the Audience at Global Festival of Journalism

Award of Distinction to Documentary from Cyprus at Global Festival

Noida: India and Cyprus have long-standing cultural relations that have been strengthened through the exchange of art, music, dance, and literature. The cultural exchange program between the two nations has led to a better understanding of each other’s traditions and values. This collaboration has opened up avenues for mutual learning and growth, cementing the relationship between India and Cyprus on a cultural level,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah Founder of Noida Film City and President of GFJN at the screening of Cyprus Documentary at Marwah Studios.

Yiannakis Makrides Deputy Head of the Mission, High Commission of Cyprus inaugurated the documentary film “ Olga’s Garden”. It is an audio-visual statement on the impact of high rises on the lives of citizens who live in between the construction sites, and its effect on their private and shared space. The film is produced by Maria Loizidou, and Danae Stylianou from Cyprus.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah presented festival memento and  the Award of Distinction to Cyprus Documentary received by Yiannakis Makrides immediately after the screening. The event was supported by Asian Unity Alliance,  Indo Cyprus Film and Cultural Forum & World Peace Development and Research Foundation.

Kazakhstan Documentary Honoured with Award of Distinction at 11th GFJN

A Documentary From Kazakhstan won Award of Distinction at GFJN 2023

Noida: The Global Festival  of Journalism Noida is a cultural event, designed by International Journalism Centre, that also showcases films, music, and art from around the world. As part of the festival, the International Documentary section features a diverse selection of documentary films from various countries, covering a wide range of topics such as social issues, environmental concerns, and human interest stories. These thought-provoking documentaries provide a unique perspective on global issues and promote cross-cultural understanding among festival attendees,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah founder of Noida Film City and President of GFJN while inaugurating the film from Kazakhstan.

A film titled-January Events Facts and Arguments Kazakhstan was screened. The 11-minute film, which tells the key developments of each day from Jan. 1, 2022, to Jan. 8, 2022, has covered looters’ attacks against police and civilians and actions of law enforcement agencies from surveillance cameras, as well as personal interviews with detainees and victims. The film is Produced by National Film Studios Kazakhstan.

Ardak Kakimzhanov First Secretary Embassy of Kazakhstan and  Dr Lavlin Thadani Film maker & writer were the guest of honour. Later Dr. Marwah presented Award of Distinction to film from Kazakhstan in a grand function at Marwah Studios. The event was supported by Indo Khazakhstan Film and Cultural Forum & World Peace Development and Research Foundation.

Global Excellence Awards for Journalism 2023 at 11th Global Festival

Noida: International Journalism Centre, India hosted the prestigious Global Excellence Awards for Journalism 2023. The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Festival President, President of ICMEI, and Chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts. The event was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including HE Thabang Linus Kholumo, Charge d’ Affaires, High Commission of Lesotho, and HE Yiannis Makrides, Deputy Head of the Mission, High Commission of Cyprus.

Gandhi Sewa Ratna Award 2023 for Sandeep Marwah

New Delhi: Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chancellor AAFT University of Media and Arts and Founder of Noida Film City was bestowed upon Gandhi Sewa Ratna Award 2023 by a well-known social organization World Against Corruption People Council at Constitutional Club, New Delhi. Marwah expressed his gratitude for the recognition and emphasized the importance of Gandhian values in today’s world.

Marwah spoke about the role of media in promoting social justice and equality, and highlighted the need for media professionals to uphold the principles of truth, fairness, and impartiality. New Delhi: Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chair for Indo Ireland Film and Cultural Forum congratulated the visiting Minister from Ireland Roderic O’ Gorman Minister for Children Equality Integration and Youth, Government of Ireland, and H.E. Bredan Ward Ambassador of Ireland to India on the celebration of St. Patricks Day and Hundred years of Ireland. The event aimed to celebrate Irish culture and heritage, as well as to strengthen diplomatic ties between Ireland and India.

St Patrick’s Day on 17th March is the biggest day in Ireland ‘s cultural calendar and a national holiday with a host of events throughout Ireland and all over the World in celebration of the nation’s patron saint.

The Minister from Ireland Roderic O’ Gorman highlighted the significance of St. Patrick’s Day as a celebration of Irish identity and culture. He spoke about the history of St. Patrick and the role of the Irish diaspora in promoting Irish culture and values around the world.

The Ambassador of Ireland emphasized the importance of diplomatic relations between Ireland and India. He highlighted the shared values and interests of the two countries, such as a commitment to democracy, human rights, and sustainable development. He also spoke about the potential for increased trade and investment between Ireland and India, and encouraged greater collaboration in areas such as education, research, and innovation.

Chief Guest of the day Meenakshi Lekhi Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture of India attended the event and said that Patrick’s Day is a celebration of Irish culture and a reminder of the importance of diplomacy in promoting, understanding, and cooperation, between nations.

Sandeep Marwah Inaugurated Exhibition of Photographs at AIFACS

New Delhi: Sandeep Marwah, the President of Marwah Studios and Chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts, inaugurated an exhibition of photography under the tittle Reminiscience  at AIFACS art gallery . The event was attended by several renowned photographers and art enthusiasts.

The exhibition showcased a collection of photographs by talented photographers from different parts of the country. The photographs captured different aspects of life, ranging from nature to culture, and conveyed a powerful message through their lenses.

Speaking at the inauguration, Sandeep Marwah appreciated the efforts of the photographers and their ability to capture the essence of life in their pictures. He also stressed the importance of photography as a medium of expression and the need to encourage budding photographers.

“The art of photography has the power to capture moments and convey emotions that words often fail to express. It is a medium that has the ability to connect people from different parts of the world and tell their stories,” said Sandeep Marwah. He further added, “I am delighted to see such a wonderful collection of photographs here today, and I hope this exhibition inspires more people to take up photography as a hobby or a profession.”

The exhibition was organized by Smita  & Tushar of Luna Arts. It provided a platform for talented photographers to showcase their work and connect with art enthusiasts and industry experts.

Noida: Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and AAFT recently addressed the staff of the Asian Academy of Film and TV (AAFT) to motivate and inspire them. The event took place at the AAFT campus in Noida, India, and was attended by faculty members and administrative staff.
