Documentary from Lesotho Honoured with An Award of Distinction at GFJN

This documentary is about Basotho , their culture and meaning behind their cultural activities. The film is from Moshoeshoe, the founder of Basotho Nation. It is directed by Lehlohonolo Mayeza.
Present on the occasion AAFT alumna and Miss Deaf Universe Vidisha Baliyan thanked AAFT for providing so much of facilities to students including giant festivals like Global Festival of Journalism. “I have learned from these kind of events, I owe my success to AAFT,” said Vidisha humbly.
Dr. Sandeep Marwah announced an Award of Distinction to Documentary from Lesotho-“Basotho Culture” and presented the award to Thabang Linus Kholumo along with festival memento.
The program was conducted by Mehak Zaidi, Asst. Prof., AAFT School of Mass Communication & Journalism. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Festival Director. The event was supported by Asian Unity Alliance, World Peace Development and Research Foundation, AAFT University, and Indo Lesotho Film and Cultural Forum.
Mahatma Gandhi National Award for Journalism at Marwah Studios Noida
Noida: Marwah Studios in Noida, India, was the venue for the 6th Mahatma Gandhi National Awards ceremony. The event was presided over by Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Festival President, President of ICMEI, and Chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts. This year’s awardees included Padma Shri Alok Mehta, a renowned journalist, commentator, and writer, Rahul Dev, a senior journalist and former editor of Jansatta and AajTak, Kulwinder Singh Kang, an international cricket and hockey commentator and director of sports at All India Radio, and Ajay Shukla, a columnist, commentator, and senior journalist.

Global Festival of Journalism Concluded with Fashion Show
Noida: GFJN-Global Festival of Journalism Noida 2023, organized by the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), concluded with a spectacular fashion show. The festival was held under the leadership of Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Festival President, President of ICMEI, and Chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts.
The festival was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests, including Thabang Linus Kholumo, Charge d’ Affaires, High Commission of Lesotho, Neeraj A Sharma Hon. Consul General of Palau to India, Yiannakis Makrides Deputy Head of the Mission, High Commission of Cyprus, and renowned writer and poetess Urvashi Agrawal ‘Urvi,’ The event also saw the presentation of the Award of Distinction to the Cyprus film “Olgas Garden.”
The fashion show was a highlight of the festival and showcased the latest trends and designs from some of the most prominent student fashion designers of AAFT. The guests were also presented with a Festival Memento as a token of appreciation for their participation.
In her vote of thanks, Prof. Ritu Lal, Director, AAFT School of Fashion Design, expressed her gratitude to all the guests for their valuable contributions to the festival. She also thanked Dr. Sandeep Marwah for his leadership and vision in making the festival a grand success.

Martys Day Observed by Bhagat Singh Forum of AAFT at Marwah Studios
On 23rd March, the Asian Academy of Film and Television (AAFT) observed Martyrs’ Day, also known as Shaheed Diwas, in honor of the three Indian freedom fighters- Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar, and Shivaram Rajguru, who were executed in 1931 for their contributions to India’s freedom struggle.
Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Chancellor of AAFT University, addressed the students of AAFT and highlighted the significance of this day. He emphasized that the sacrifice of these young Indians should inspire us to love our motherland and work towards its development.
Dr. Rajesh Badal, a renowned writer and poet who has written books on Bhagat Singh, shared some untold stories from his research on Bhagat Singh. He also recited some of Bhagat Singh’s writings, which left the audience amazed at the depth of his writing.
Satya Dev and Sushil Bharti, members of the Bhagat Singh Forum of AAFT, also spoke on the occasion, highlighting the relevance of the ideas and principles of Bhagat Singh in today’s world.
The event served as a reminder of the sacrifice made by the freedom fighters and their commitment to the cause of India’s independence. It also provided an opportunity for the younger generation to learn from their struggle and work towards building a better future for India. Later Dr. Marwah presented guests with membership of Bhagat Singh Forum. The event was supported by World Peace Development and Research Foundation.

Seminar on AVGC During 11th Global Festival of Journalism at Marwah Studios
Noida: Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics together has been given a new segment in Media & Entertainment Industry as AVGC Sector. Government of India has also created a AVGC promotion Task force.
