Sandeep- Role of Literature in Cinema
New Delhi: “Cinema and Literature are two major forms of arts and have always fascinated the readers and viewers in all the ages. Literature may grow of its own but cinema cannot prosper without the literature. It has always been a source of inspiration for filmmakers,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chancellor of AAFT University of Media And Arts at a program designed by Himalini Media Group of Nepal in association with Dwarka Parichay.
“I am fascinated by 6th Global Literary Festival Noida 2020 on web and wanted Dr. Sandeep Marwah to speak on this subject too-A Role of Literature In Cinema,” said S.S. Dogra introducing the subject.
“Be it a Aladdin Ka Chirag, Alibaba Chalis Chor, Cinderella or Devdas a good story is always welcomed by film makers to convert into visual media. R.K. Narayan’s Guide, The Citadel by A.J Cronin into Tere Mere Sapne, Sharat Chandra Chattopadya’s Devdas and Parineeta into popular cinema, Chetan Bhagat’s Three Mistakes of my Life into Kai Poche and 2 States, God Father by Mario Puzo into Dyavan and then Government are some of the best examples of literature converted into cinema,” added Dr. Sandeep Marwah
Prominent writers like Munshi Premchand who gave films like Gaban, Godan, Heera Moti, Shatranj Ke Khilari, Gulshan Nanda’s literature was changed to cinema like Sharmilee, Kati Patang, Pather Ke Sanam, Neel kamal. PrayagRaj added to the collection by giving Amar Akbar Antony, Suhag, Parvarish, Naseeb, Mard, Ajooba and many others.
There may be hundreds of examples when known writers in literature have contributed to cinema. On the other hand cinema has highlighted good literature and gave historical publicity to the writers.
Dr. Kirti Kale renowned poetess, Satya Prakash Manglani filmmaker and Rajjan Lyallpuri Cinematographer also spoke on the subject.

Sandeep Marwah Addressed The Architects of India
New Delhi: More than 400 architects and designers from all over India and abroad participated in a webinar organized by Surfaces Reporter a well known magazine to discuss workspaces in Post Lockdown World.
“There is going to be a tremendous change in the whole architecture of offices and houses, shops and malls as Covid 19 is now going to stay for some more time. You need to have space for social distancing and probably all large gathering will now shift to webinars and other applications on computers,” said r, Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and founder of Noida Film city as a special invitees in the national conference of Architects.
Sandeep Marwah explained about the film studios, cinema theatres, filmy offices, auditoriums for events, open theatres etc. might need change after lockdown is over.

Webinar by ICMEI on M & E Industry Back On Its Feet
New Delhi: A webinar was organized by International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry to discuss the effects of lockdown and planning to open the different segments of industry in next few days.
“Media and Entertainment Industry is the sixth biggest industry in the country with almost turn over of Rs 2,35,000 crores. Around 10 million workers are working in this industry. M& E also supports another ten million people of associated industry like hospitality, Tourism, travel, transport, engineering, fashion & design etc. ,” initiated Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of ICMEI at a webinar with the topic ‘M&E Industry Back on Its Feet’.
“M&E includes Print, Radio, Television, Cinema, New Media, Events, Music and Theme Parks. The worst effected is the cinema when 10,000 theatres are closed and 1.5 crore customers are feeling let down every day. The industry has occurred a loss of Rs 6000 crores in these 60 days,” added Dr. Marwah.
“I extend my heartiest thanks to few very nice people of the industry who all have gone out of way to support lakhs of daily wages workers of the industry. The migration of these workers means much delay in opening the gates of cinema. The industry cannot function without their support,” said B.N. Tewari President FWICE- Federation of Western India Cine Employees.
“We are thankful to all the media persons who all have been working in the most risky environment and working for television and new media and making M&E industry move further,” We are anxiously waiting for the decision to get into the job but ample precautions now have to be taken at the time of shooting. New changes have to be brought down right from writing to production,”said Virendra Saxena renowned theatre, film and TV artist.,”
Indian film industry also has to live with Carona and it has to start with new norms. We, as an industry, have been supporting Government in every issue, Now Government should take care of needy today. We are sure we all will be out of it very soon,” said Gajendra Chauhan renowned actor and former Chairperson FTII Pune.
Ashok Tyagi paid vote of thanks and requested all to be on their toes to start the shootings and completion of last films. Only enthusiasm is the key to success. The session was followed by question answers.

Mrigdeep Singh Lamba Motivated Students On AAFT Webinar
Mumbai: Mrigdeep Singh Lamba an alumnus of Asian Academy of Film And Television passed out with flying colors and was nominated as the best director of the batch. In return Director Sandeep Marwah presented him two films to direct. The first one was a short film on AAFT and another one was docu drama -A mud Island. A star was born.
Mrigdeep did his job perfectly and further was allotted five advertisement films from Marwah Studios, which were meant for Sahara group. Later he joined as assistant in the foreign unit that time shooting in Delhi narrated Mrigdeep to the young students of AAFT.
“You need to love your work. You have to prove your worth. First deserve and then desire that’s what we have learned from the institute. Do not waist your time, take best advantage of lockdown, Watch films, develop subjects, write synopsis, read books, watch television. There is no dearth of inputs today. Your story has to be exclusive. Think out of box,” added Mrigdeep in the Webinar.
Mrigdeep is one of the brightest talents in the Indian film industry today and has spent close to two decade in movie industry. His directorial venture,’Fukrey’ (2013), won millions of hearts across the country. Fukrey Returns, Teen They Bhai, Khandani Shafakhana and many others followed it.
“I am thankful to Prof. Sandeep Marwah for giving me an opportunity to prove myself,” thanked Mrigdeep emotionally.

Indo American Chapter of ICMEI Welcomed Donald Trump
New Delhi: The Indo American Film And Cultural Forum of International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry welcomed the maiden visit of US President Donald Trump and the first lady Melania Trump.
“ICMEI has a lot to offer when it comes to art and culture. The relation between the two most powerful film producing countries India and United States can do wonders in this industry. USA is the only country where we look upon as far as cinema is concerned,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of ICMEI.
“We have left no stone unturned in joining bigger hands with USA. Ample has been done and it is a continuous process to promote art and culture of both the countries. Our latest association with University of South California has brought us a fantastic appreciation. Soon we will be able to tie up with UCLA-University of California Los Angles,” added Dr. Marwah also Chancellor of AAFT University of Media And Arts.
Needless to say recently Prof. Dr.Nigel Anthony Browne, The Chancellor of The George Washington University of Peace USA honored Dr. Sandeep Marwah with honorary Doctorate (Honoris Causa) in a grand function at Hotel Novatel in Kolkata for his deep involvement with USA.

Sandeep Marwah On The Sets of Feature Film Mooh Mittha Karao
Mumbai:” It is a great pleasure to see the students of Asian School of Media Studies working together for a powerful project of feature film ‘Mooh Mittha Karao’ directed by a woman director from ASMS Jasmine Kaur Sakheja,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of ASMS at the Muhurat of a new project at Future Studios at Goregaon, Mumbai.
“I extend my heartiest congratulations to each and every one and wish this film a very big success. The training at Marwah Studios has always been practical which gives students ample confidence to get on the floor for production of films like this,” added Marwah congratulating each and every one present there. Dr. Marwah was accompanied with Dr. Sushil Bharti of Radio Noida 107.4FM.
“I am so excited with the project and it is giving me a very homely environment to work with the team, all from my film school. We all belong to different batches but sense of oneness is there,” said Jasmine Kaur Sukheja ASMS 2014-17 batch welcoming Dr. Marwah on the sets.
The team consisting of pass outs from ASMS including Vaibhav Singh as Creative Director and Shantanu Singh as Associate Director from 2014-17 batch, Vishal Vashisth as Chief Assistant and Script Supervisor, Prasanna Bisht as Costume Assistant Director from 2015-18, Rahul Bobby First Assistant of 2016-19, Abhishek Upadhyay Second Assistant of 2014-15 and Wicky Singh as Assistant Director of 2014-16 batch.

Indo Myanmar Film And Cultural Forum Formed At ICMEI
Noida: The visit of H.E. Moe Kyaw Aung Ambassador of Myanmar to India brought new energy to the international campus of ICMEI- International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry at Marwah Studios when a new committee on Myanmar under the name and banner of Indo Myanmar Film And Cultural Forum was declared open.
“We have achieved a new target by opening a new committee on Myanmar. Not many people are aware of Myanmar and its beauty. We are neighbors to India and want to do a lot of business between the two countries including cinema and tourism,” said H.E. Moe Kyaw Aung Ambassador of Myanmar to India.
“It is not only necessary but essential to develop contact between people to people of two countries. ICMEI will support both the governments to fulfill their desire of building up bigger and better relation and cooperation,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and ICMEI.
A poster was launched on the occasion to mark the opening of the forum. H.E. Moe Kyaw Aung Ambassador of Myanmar nominated Dr. Sandeep Marwah as the Chair for Indo Myanmar Film And Cultural Forum. In return Dr. Marwah presented the Patronship to the Ambassador. The launching will be followed by the formal event of signing of MOU by Embassy of Myanmar and ICMEI informed Ashok Tyagi Secretary General of ICMEI.

Sandeep Marwah Spoke About Indian Film Industry at Busan
Busan: “We are the largest film industry in the World. We produce more than 2000 films in 28 official languages. There are 12000 theatres in India and 15 million people watch cinema every day. We sell 5 billion cinema tickets every year.,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry during World Education Leaders Forum meet at World Cultural Camp at Busan University in South Korea.
Media And Entertainment Industry also includes 900 television channels, 30,000 newspapers and magazines, 350 Radio Stations and One Billion mobile phones out of which 25 percent are smart phones in India. The media arts and Entertainment industry has employed 6 million workers. The turnover of this industry has crossed 20 billion US Dollars and expected to be 28 Billion Dollarrs in next 2/3 years.
“Films are the real mirror of the culture of any country, these kind of cultural camps at International levels such as organized by International Youth Fellowship brings lots of love, peace and unity among countrymen and people from different nations,” added Dr. Sandeep Marwah.
Sandeep Marwah invited people of all nations to attend Global Film Festival, Global Literary Festival, Global Festival of Journalism and Global Fashion Week in India too.

City Magistrate S.K.Mishra Noida Visited AAFT
Noida: The city magistrate of NOIDA City Shailendra Kumar Mishra appreciated the working style of the most popular film school of the country- AAFT- Asian Academy of Film And Television based in Marwah Studios, Film city Noida.
“This is my first visit to Asian Academy of Film And Television. I am impressed by the facilities being provided to the students who come here to learn film and television trade. This is one of the oldest skill development center in Noida,” said S.K.Mishra.
“We have churned out 17000 thousand students from 120 countries of the World, and attracted 1.4 million people from 145 countries of the World. AAFT is now the first film university of the country,” informed Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios.
Later Sandeep Marwah presented and honored S.K.Mishra with Life Membership of World Peace Development And Research Foundation of Marwah Studios. Jameel Ahmed former Secretary Noida Authority was also present on the occasion.

Workshop by Adil Hussain at AAFT School of Cinema
Noida: A well-known actor Adil Hussain shared his vast experience of film business with the cinema students of AAFT School of Cinema at Marwah Studios Film City Noida.
“Sincere efforts and continuous persuasion will get you job in the industry. An attitude to learn is the key to growth. Never loose heart, if not today tomorrow you will be appreciated for your hard efforts,” said Adil Hussain.
“We are very thankful to Adil Hussain for his contribution and speaking his heart out. He has won the heart of cinema students,” said Sandeep Marwah.
Adil Hussain is an Indian stage, television and film actor from the state of Assam, who works in mainstream Bollywood as well as art house cinema. He has worked in international films like The Reluctant Fundamentalist and Life of Pi and he received the Special Jury Award at the 2017 National Film Awards. He has acted in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Tamil, Marathi, Malayalam, Norwegian and French films.
Amir Abdullah Director AAFT School of Cinema extended special thanks to the great actor and students appreciated the visit of an actor.
