Honorable B.L. Sharma Minister of State in the Ministry of Development of Northeastern Region and Minister of State in the Ministry of Co-operation, Government of India was the Chief Guest of the function.
H.E. U Moe Kyaw Aung welcomed the large audience consisting of Ambassadors, High Commissioners, Diplomats, people from Business Community, Art and Culture, and different strata of life. Ambassador emphasised on the cordial and strong relations of Myanmar with India from centuries. The official function was followed by gala dinner.

A poster was launched to mark respect to this auspicious day at the Global Headquarters of International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry at Noida Film City. “We are very fortunate to establish Indo Myanmar Film and Cultural Forum in a very short period with the support of Ambassador and Embassy of Myanmar in New Delhi.
Large number of events in relation to Cinema, Literature, Fashion and Design, Journalism, Education, etc. have already been conducted to develop and promote relation between the two countries India and Myanmar.
Film from Myanmar was Honoured with Award of Distinction at 15th GFFN
Noida: On the second day of the 15th Global Film Festival Noida, a film screening of the movie “The Attachment” from Myanmar was organised. The guest panel included Festival President Dr Sandeep Marwah, Renowned Actor Brijendra Kala, Rajan Sehgal Chairman at TAAI- (Travel Agents Association of India) and the Ambassador of Myanmar to India HE Moe Kyaw Aung.
Addressing the gathering, Festival President Dr. Sandeep Marwah expressed his happiness regarding the Indo-Myanmar relations and forum and how it’s helping to build good relations between both the countries. He laid stress on the importance of film and cultural tourism and how that industry is flourishing with time. He said that two countries can definitely come together with the help of art and culture.
Rajan Sehgal said that Global Film Festival Noida is a great platform for all the students to be have a wider exposure and learn from the top-notch Industry professionals. Renowned actor Brijendra Kala said that events like these should keep going on even in the future. He also said that age does not and will never matter as long as one has the passion and will to learn and achieve something big. He shared some acting tips with the students of AAFT.
The Ambassador of Myanmar HE Moe Kyaw Aung mentioned about good cultural relations between India and Myanmar. He said that “film is a medium to promote people to people contact and understanding”. He also said that his country is very closely related to the Indian film industry and hence expressed his wish of inviting Indian filmmakers to produce films in Myanmar.
The award of distinction for the film “The Attachment” was presented by Dr. Sandeep Marwah to HE Moe Kyaw Aung alongside presentation of mementos to the esteemed guests. The event was coordinated by Assistant Professor Ruhi of AAFT School of Animation and Assistant Professor Niharika of AAFT School of PR Events & Advertising. The event was supported by International Film and Television Club, International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry, Asian Unity Alliance, World Peace Development and Research Foundation and Indo Myanmar Film and Culture Forum.

New Delhi: “We are gathered here to discuss and plan as how to develop and promote relations between the people of India and Myanmar. I happy to inform that the association of the same nature is doing very well back in Myanmar,” said H.E. Moe Kyaw Aung Ambassador of Myanmar to India initiating the meeting of cultural heads from different segments and strata of life.
“We are happy that we have already framed Indo Myanmar Film and Cultural Forum few years back and is doing pretty well under the Patronage of H.E. “Indo Myanmar Film and Cultural Forum has already been a part and parcel of Global Film Festival, Global Fashion Week, Global Festival of Journalism, Global Literary Festival, and many other important international; event,” added Dr. Marwah.

On January 4th 1948, the Union of Burma gained its independence from Britain. Notably, it declined to join the British Commonwealth. Shan National Sao Shwe Taik became the new country’s first President and U Nu its first Prime Minister. Burma was renamed Myanmar in 1989 by its military government.
“Not very long ago we have created Indo Myanmar Film and Cultural Forum in association with Embassy of Myanmar in India to develop and promote relations between the people of two countries through art and culture. Myanmar has always been part of our all international summits from time t time,” added Dr. Marwah also Chair for Indo Myanmar Film And Cultural Forum.

New Delhi: A powerful MOU- Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between ICMEI- International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry and Embassy of Myanmar in India representing Government of Myanmar to promote art and culture of both the countries.
The MOU was signed by Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of ICMEI and H.E. Moe Kyaw Aung Ambassador of Myanmar to India at the Embassy of Myanmar at Chanakyapuri.
“We have discussed in length as how ICMEI can help in bringing people of India close to people of Myanmar. We also want Indians to know more about culture of Myanmar and vice versa,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of ICMEI.
Promotion through scholarships, radio programs, television programs, print and social media publicity, events including musical recitals, dance recitals, honoring visiting artists from Myanmar, exchange programs in education, film festivals are some of the points finalized in the discussion.
“We are eager to work with ICMEI and I am sure we will take our relations to new and higher platform,” said H.E. Moe Kyaw Aung Ambassador of Myanmar to India.
