“Film festivals provide a wonderful platform to interact and share your views internationally through seminars. This time seminar invited few big names to share their views on the subject-The Impact Of Cinema On Society” subject introduced by Sandeep Marwah President of GFFN.

H.E. Darja Bavda Kuret, Ambassador of Slovenia in India inaugurated the seminar, who also gave her remarks on the subject that films are the mirror of the society.

Film producer Rahul Mittra explained his point of view with examples from his own films. Mahesh Aney, Ramesh Meer, Kinley Pendel were the other speakers who all expressed their views. Later the house was open to question answers.

“Noida Film City is the right place to have Global Film Festival, the whole world knows about it. I wish you all a very happening and meaning full festival” blessed Tom Alter while releasing the first poster of 7th GFFN.

“We have planned a powerful show for three days which will bring more colors to film business in North India” said Ashok Tyagi festival Director confidently.

Prof. Kalyan Sarkar spoke about the program in detail to the large audience present in the hall.

Annual General Meeting of 7th Global Film Festival Noida Held

“We have once again gathered here to create history in the field of cinema. 7th Global Film Festival Noida 2014 will bring in new innovative ideas and the whole world will follow it till the next year” Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios introduced 7th GFFN to the members of the board.

Six times with successful results, Asian Society has taken lead in developing and promoting film, television and media business in this part of the World. Three days exercise is heard and seen by all over the World when more than 2000 media houses try to cover the event in different mediums of media.

“I am sure one day GFFN will be compared by the Cannes International Film Festival and other top ten film festivals of the World” said Dr. A.K. Srivastava Director of Asian School of Media Studies. “We are better than many old age film festivals of the World” said Prof Kalyan Sarkar Dean of Asian Academy of Film And Television.

The film festival be on 11th to 13th November 2014 and a special segment of cooperative movement has been added to it as a mark of respect to Late Proime Minister of India Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru which will close on 14th November on his birth anniversary..

Indu Shrikent Joins IFTC

Marwah Studios has given 10 best film festivals to the nation. These festivals have attained international stature and created international records with time. “Film Festivals are the best windows to show Cinema “ Sandeep Marwah invited Indu Srikent to join IFTC as advisor.

Indu Shrikent graduated with a major in English literature. In 1993, she joined Cinemaya,The Asian Film Quarterly, a journal devoted to Asian cinema, where she became deputy editor. One of the founder members of NETPAC India, Indu Shrikent promoted Asian cinema extensively in India by organizing film appreciation courses, screenplay workshops, and film weeks on Asian countries culminating in 1999 with the launch of the Cinefan Festival in New Delhi.

Indu Shrikent has been co-director of the Cinefan Film Festival since its inception in 1999 and has contributed to the steady growth of the festival. At present she is the Festival Director of Osian’s Cinefan Film Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema.

“We are proud to be associated with Indu Ji, who can contribute a lot to film festivals” added Marwah. Later Marwah handed over the life membership of International Film And Television Club of Asian Academy of Film And Television to Indu.

Seminar At 4th Global Film Festival

Corporatisation is the new buzz word in the Bollywood. At one level it has brought moolah to the filmmakers but some feel it has taken away their creative freedom.

This dichotomy will be discussed threadbare at the opening seminar ‘Corporotisation and Cinema’ on 25th November 2011 in the 4th Global Film Festival Noida 2011. Sumit Singhal of NDTV and Sudhir Tandon, former DDG of Doordarshan will form a part of the panelists.

“The issues likely be thrown open for discussion include the former private financing to the controlled funding of the present times, assembly line production of the saleable themes and the impact it is having on the small and medium films” said Sandeep Marwah President of Global Film festival Noida.

Second seminar on 26th November will focus on the age old relationship between cinema and literature. Though Indian writers have not done exceedingly well in Bollywood by the galaxy of lyricists like Sahir, Gulzar, Jaan Nisar Akhtar have added aesthetics and creativity to the Hindi films in particular. The panelists will be Pratap Sahgal and Divik Ramesh

The last seminar on 27th November will discuss the curse of piracy that has affected films for long. The panelists will be Rajendra sahgal and Anil Thakur. International Film And Television Research Centre will do the planning of these seminars.

The Content Of The Film Matters- Malti Sahay At 70th Festival of AAFT

“The times have changed and cinema now can be seen in a digital format whether it on big screen, television, internet or mobile, it is the content- the story which matters and all starts from short films” said Malti Sahay the former Director, Directorate of Film Festival, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India on the inauguration of 70th AAFT Festival of Short Digital Films at Film City Noida.

“It has become custom with us to celebrate festival of short films every three months. This is the best platform for short films to showcase to the film lovers” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and of the festival for the 70th time adding another feather in the cap of Marwah by creating International Record.

Some of the films shown in the 70th festival were WHAT?ERR directed by Prashant Mathawan, THE PROMESSA by Shubham Bhatnagar, AAKHRI CHORI by Mohd Shahid, HUM APKE HAIN KAUN ? by Rahul Verma, THE CURSE by Anup Kumar & H. Narwal, THE DREAM by Arnab Bhattacharya and WHOSOEVER UR, BE PURE directed by Gaurav Bhalla.

Others who spoke on the occasion were Sudhir Tandon President Osian Film Festival Pratap Chakerbarthy representative of AFP, Mukesh Ranjan of Asian Age and Kalyan Sarkar Dean AAFT and all were presented life membership of International Film And Television Club. Later Sandeep Marwah honored Lavleen Thadani the student of 9th batch of AAFT with Academy Award on the completion of 100 projects on visual media.

4th Cellphone Cinema Festival Results

The 4th International Festival of Cellphone Cinema was a super hit not only with the film, television and Media students but also with the common men who were watching films with great interest held at Marwah Studios.

The results were declared in all the categories by the Chairperson of the jury Prof Karl Bardosh who specially flew down to Noida from New York. Speaking on the occasion Prof Karl gave the reference of the films made by his students of cinema at Tisch School of Arts at New York University. The Jury had Prof. kalyan Sarkar, Prof. Mansoor Naqvi, Prof. K.K.Pummi and Prof. V.S.Kanan.

The special jury award in Fiction Category went to film EHSAS by Nandan Ashish. Best Fiction to ‘SLUMDOG IN DANGER directed by Sonali Singh. The special jury mention for documentary ROUNDS ALL ROUNDS US directed by Kayyum Md. Harif Mistry and Best Documentary Award to TIRANGA directed by Kirtiman Singh. Best Message Category to THE GLIMPSES OF UNITY directed by Abhishek Kumar Maurya. Special Jury award in Best Massage category went to ROMANCING THE SKY by Varda Rizvi.

The First Award of still picture went to TARE ZAMEEN PAR by R.K.Shiva, Second to SOLITUDE by Hingul Dutta and Third to REVISITING POTHER PANCHALI by Shubra Ghosh. Special Jury Mention for still awarded to DREAMING EYES by Praveen Singh Chauhan, COMPLICATIONS by Vicky Khandur, MERA JAHAN by Manohar Rao and MEAL TIME FOR POOR & HUNGRY by Hemant. Every body was honored with the Award Certificates and the cash prize by Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios.

“I am proud that Sandeep Marwah has brought Noida to International fame not only by establishing Noida Film City but by converting Noida into Nalanda and attracting students from 80 countries of the World” said Ashok Pradhan former Union Minister, Government of India at the award distribution function at Noida. “Marwah has become source of inspiration for many media persons in India” Ashok Pradhan added.

RBS Media is an initiative of some young film makers who want to bring many film,TV and media activities together under one roof. Speaking on the occasion Mughda Karla from IBN7 emphasized on the need of training in the field of media and moreover a genuine media centres. Dr. Praveen Tewari of India Live also expressed his views and highlighted the need of networking in this trade.

“Film, TV and Media is the most fascinating business, you need to be passionate to get success in this field” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios, educationist and three time World Record Holder while inaugurating the new film festival after the name of ‘Dada Sahib Phalke’ the father of Indian Cinema.

Later Ashok Pradhan handed over RBS Media and Educational Awards to people who all were present there from different fields from all over India.

It is the thinking of renowned international Media Personality Sandeep Marwah that fine arts especially the knowledge of Art- Paintings add on to the esthetic sense of film maker. Keeping all that in mind a painting exhibition during 4th International Festival of Cellphone Cinema was inaugurated at the festival campus at Marwah Studios.

“I am proud to be present with you here at Marwah Studios which is the real hub centre of Art and Culture. My interaction with media students have added to my knowledge on other arts like film making” said Dr Raja Murlidhar, the artist from Chennai whose exhibition received a warm welcome on the opening day.

The chief guest on the occasion N..K. Verma, the General Manager ONGC, Government of India called it a value addition for film makers at festival. “I am ready to promote young talented people who are looking for promotion and they deserve that too”

Next time I am sure more on other Fine Art will be added to this festival” said Dr.Madhukar Gangadhar former Director General Radio, Min. of I&B. “ My association go as back as 18 years with this organization and every time when I come here I find a new department created by Sandeep Marwah” said A.S.Bedi film producer/director.

Sandeep Marwah Nominated As President of 3rd Global Film Festival Noida 2010

The Popular ‘Asian Society of Film And Television’ with its Patrons, advisors and members spread out all over the World, nominated Sandeep Marwah as the president of Global Film Festival once again on the occasion of launching of 3rd Global Film Festival from 12th to 14th November,2010 at Noida film City with a special focus on Children Films.

“It is my honor to be on the highest post of the festival, and I will see to it that this time GFF will be in much larger scale than the last one” said Sandeep Marwah while talking to the International Press at Marwah Studios.

Global Film Festival was started in the year 2007 with the first edition emphasizing on the films on Peace and Spirituality, the second edition was highlighting Documentary Films and this time it is Children Films are in focus. Prof. R.K. Singh Dean Asian School of Media Studies and former Engineer in Chief, Doordarshan, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India has been nominated as Festival Director.

“Various programs have been designed to distribute education, Knowledge, Training, information, Entertainment and to communicate to the masses, the importance of Cinema through this festival” Marwah added.

There will be screening of foreign films, AAFT films, ASMS films, Films made by Children, films on Disability issue, films directed by commercial film makers on Children, a competitive section, seminars, workshops, book releases, forum launchings, networking lunches, gala dinners, stage shows, entertainment, formal inauguration and closing ceremony, daily bulletin, exhibitions, market section etc.
